It turns out that travelling to a place with very limited internet access and no TV channels in your native tongue means that you end up reading quite a lot. Who knew?! I read a lot of training and nutrition books while we were away, as well as some novels to just chill out. It also shows how much time we spend doing other things when we could be reading. Though, in my defence, I was able to dip in and out of books all day rather than trying to fit it in around work that can be quite mentally draining.
On which note, I’m interested in knowing about any books you would recommend (and why) covering the following areas:
- kettlebell training
- weight training
- sports nutrition
- fat loss
- training mindset and focus
I’m already building a decent collection of Kindle, physical, and audio books. But learning new things is fun and interesting so any recommendations, whether you think I have them already or not, much appreciated.
I like reading and listening more than I like watching youtube. I find I get distracted too easily with videos with other things going on, whereas I focus on the written word better. Listening works when commuting or travelling, or even sometimes when I’m doing mindless training like easier cardio.
If there is anything you particular would like covered, then please shout out. If I’ve read it, I will offer an honest opinion. If not, and I think it’s worth trying, I may just buy to learn from and review. I’m not so much into reviewing recipe books though. Everyone has different likes and dislikes in terms of cuisine and ingredients. We both love spicy Asian and Caribbean food. My Mum not so much for example.
I was very impressed with some of the training and nutrition books that I read while we were away, so I’m going to do some book reviews of those soon. Keep an eye out for them! Sharing the goodness 😉
