So last night I did my HIIT legs and abs training, but I also hung around for the Kettlebell Sport class. Despite not being able to lift, our coach had planned a bit of fun doing “Bring Sally Up” which seems to be doing the rounds in kettlebell circles at the moment. One of the team had also highlighted it – thanks Cass! There have been variations with high/low planks, press-ups/press-up-holds, jerks, squats (bodyweight, barbell, and kettlebell), etc. I really fancy having a go at the jerk version once I’m a bit more fixed, and I think the plank variations would be a mega core workout.
For added pressure, our attempt was filmed! It was really good fun, if a bit painful on the old legs after HIIT. My form gets worse throughout but hey…
I did head home after that. As seeing everyone lift stuff made it worse that I couldn’t 🙁 I guess I am healing and improving though because when I’d first hurt myself even the thought of lifting was painful, where now I am fighting an urge to get back into it.
